Everything to check before you buy 265/65 R17 tyres in the UAE: what the numbers mean, which cars use the size, how prices compare across brands and when it is time to replace them.

01What does 265/65 R17 mean?

The size is moulded on the sidewall of every tyre. Read it left to right:

  1. 265 is the section width in millimetres, measured from sidewall to sidewall.
  2. 65 is the aspect ratio. The sidewall is 65% as tall as the tyre is wide, about 172 mm.
  3. R means radial construction, used on almost every modern car tyre.
  4. 17 is the wheel (rim) diameter in inches.

The overall diameter works out at roughly 776 mm, which means about 2,438 mm of road covered per wheel turn. After the size you will also see a load index and speed rating (for example 94Y). Always match or exceed the ratings printed on your car’s door-jamb placard.

02Which cars use 265/65 R17?

Manufacturer fitment data lists 265/65 R17 as a factory size on these 6 models from Kia and Toyota. It is often one of several wheel options, so the right size for your car depends on its year and trim.

Check before you orderYour size can differ by trim and wheel option. Confirm it on your current tyre sidewall or the placard inside the driver’s door, or WhatsApp us a photo.

04Premium, mid-range or value?

Premium

Premium brands invest most in compounds and testing. They typically give shorter wet braking distances, a quieter ride and longer tread life, which matters on long UAE highway runs at sustained high speed.

Mid-range

Mid-range brands often share technology with premium makers and suit most daily drivers who want good grip without paying the top price.

Value

Value brands are a sensible choice for lower-mileage cars and city driving. Check the year of manufacture and warranty shown on each product before you choose.

05Load index and speed rating

The load index is the maximum weight each tyre can carry; the speed rating is the maximum sustained speed.

The most common ratings among the 265/65 R17 tyres we list:

  • 112H: up to 1,120 kg per tyre and 210 km/h.
  • 112T: up to 1,120 kg per tyre and 190 km/h.
  • 112S: up to 1,120 kg per tyre and 180 km/h.
  • 116H: up to 1,250 kg per tyre and 210 km/h.
  • XL (extra load): a reinforced construction that carries more weight at a higher pressure.
  • H, V, W and Y: speed ratings of 210, 240, 270 and 300 km/h.
  • Run-flat: lets you keep driving a short distance after a puncture. Only fit run-flats if your car was designed for them.

06When to replace your tyres

  • The tread is worn close to the wear indicator bars in the main grooves (the bars sit at 1.6 mm; wet grip drops noticeably below about 3 mm).
  • You can see cracks, bulges or cuts on the sidewall.
  • The tyres are several years old. Heat ages rubber faster, so check the four-digit date code (week and year) on the sidewall.
  • You feel vibration, pulling or more road noise than usual.

Not sure? Send us a photo of your tyres on WhatsApp and we will tell you honestly whether they need replacing.

02 — FAQ

265/65 R17 tyres, answered

01What is the price of 265/65 R17 tyres in Dubai?

We have 48 in stock from ⃃ 360 to ⃃ 1,076 per tyre, depending on the brand and pattern. Every price is per tyre and includes fitting, balancing, nitrogen, rotation, new valves and VAT.

02Which cars use 265/65 R17 tyres?

Factory fitment data lists 265/65 R17 on models including the Kia Tasman, Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Hilux, Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota Land Cruiser FJ, and Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. Sizes vary by year and trim, so check your sidewall or door placard before ordering.

03Can I fit a different size instead of 265/65 R17?

Only sizes approved for your car should be fitted. A different overall diameter changes the speedometer reading and can affect ABS, stability control and handling. Ask us before changing size.

04Do I need to replace all four tyres?

Replacing all four keeps grip balanced. If you replace two, fit the new pair on the rear axle and match the size and type of the tyres already on the car.

05Are your tyres new?

Yes. Every tyre we sell is new, and the year of manufacture and warranty are shown on each product so you know exactly what you are buying.

06Do you fit at home or at the office?

Yes. Mobile fitting and pickup & drop-off are available across the UAE. WhatsApp or call us to arrange a slot, or book a fitting station, date and time at checkout.
