02Highway, all-terrain or mud-terrain?
Highway terrain (H/T)
If your Patrol spends its life on city roads and motorways, a highway-terrain tyre is the quietest and most comfortable choice, with the lowest rolling resistance and the longest tread life on tarmac.
All-terrain (A/T)
For owners who mix daily driving with weekend trips onto sand or gravel, an all-terrain tyre has a more open tread and a tougher sidewall. It is a little louder on the road, but far more confident off it.
Mud-terrain (M/T)
Mud-terrain tyres are built for serious off-road use, with large tread blocks and reinforced sidewalls. They are noisier and wear faster on the road, so they only make sense if you regularly drive off-road.
03Best tyres for the Patrol
These are the brands we stock most in Nissan Patrol sizes. Compare them in the grid above: every price includes fitting, balancing, nitrogen and rotation.
04Care & replacement
- Check pressures once a month when the tyres are cold, using the figures on the placard in the driver’s door frame, not the maximum printed on the tyre.
- Read the four-digit date code on the sidewall (week and year of manufacture). Heat ages rubber, so have older tyres inspected even if the tread looks fine.
- Rotate the tyres at the interval in your owner’s handbook to even out wear, unless the car has different front and rear sizes.
- Replace tyres in pairs on the same axle at least, and fit the newer pair on the rear for stability.
- On four-wheel-drive vehicles, replace all four tyres together so the rolling diameters stay matched and the drivetrain is not strained.
